Thank you so much, friend.

I’m Sachit Mehra, and I’m so grateful to have been elected your new LPC President this past weekend at our 2023 Liberal National Convention.

I’ve been involved with the Liberal Party for over 32 years – as a proud Liberal member, donor, and volunteer from the prairies – and I want to give back for all that it has given me.

It’s Canadians like you who drive this movement forward – and I’m energized thinking about all the progress we are going to achieve together.

I want to thank everyone for their support. I also want to thank Suzanne Cowan who has shown incredible leadership and devotion to this party, and the important role she has played over the last 5 years in driving forward the work that we’re doing. To my team, to my family, and to all of you – thank you.

I’ve received so many kind, thoughtful calls from Canadians across the country about their vision for Canada, and I couldn’t be happier to be part of this team and everything that’s ahead of us.

This is where it starts. We need to keep going into communities and begin the work now. We need to keep knocking on doors, keep making phone calls, and connecting with Canadians in every part of Canada. We need to keep hearing your ideas and delivering the progress that Canadians care about.

I am ready to work with all of you on the path to the next election, and I know that alongside Justin Trudeau and our Liberal team’s plan to make life more affordable, strengthen our public health care system, build safer communities, accelerate the fight against climate change, and growing an economy that works for all Canadians, we have a great path ahead of us.

Liberals have a lot to be proud of – and we’re only getting started.
