I founded the first-ever Congressional Dads Caucus to send a message to working families across our country: that dads need to do our part, both at home and in the halls of Congress.

Since then, we've grown to nearly 30 members (and counting!). We're fighting for policy solutions that help working families thrive, including paid leave, affordable and high-quality child care, and the expanded Child Tax Credit.

I am excited to share what we've been up to these past few weeks as the Founder and Chair of the Congressional Dad's Caucus. Check out my updates below!

Last month, I spoke with NowThis News about what it means to be a dad and serve in Congress. We talked about the goals of the Dads Caucus, what we're doing to advocate for working families, and how my personal story has led me to start this initiative. Watch the video here.

Remember when Rep. Joaquin Castro and I changed our babies on the floor during the vote for Speaker? Since we posted on social media, we've had so many parents mention to us that the bathrooms in the Capitol complex don’t have diaper changing tables.

Well, the Congressional Dads Caucus is taking action on this issue. We wrote a request to the House Administration Committee to expand access to diaper changing tables on the Hill. It's how we build a more equitable workplace environment and ensure our buildings are accessible for working fellow parents and families!

Over apple juice and fruit, Hodge, Mary and I had our first Parents Meet-Up in Highland Park last month! Hodge had a blast making new friends while us parents talked about how the Congressional Dads Caucus can advocate for working families (and we also shared teething tips).
