May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and we want to highlight the work our New Politics servant leaders are doing to shine a light on mental health.
After serving four combat tours in Iraq, Marine Corps veteran Seth Moulton sought treatment for post-traumatic stress. Three years later, he was a U.S. Congressman.
He is an inspiring story of growth and resilience, but for a long time, Rep. Moulton couldn’t come to terms with his diagnosis, and didn’t speak about it publicly for many years. Too many folks struggling with mental health issues suffer in silence because of stigma or lack of access.
We must do more to destigmatize mental health and ensure every American has access to the care they need. That means putting leaders in office who understand the stakes.
If you want to support leaders like Seth who are willing to talk openly about this pressing issue and take action on improving mental health services, join our mission and instantly add your name now.
