The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) recently released a new rule of law policy. The policy represents a paradigm shift for the agency and takes a people-centered approach to promoting the rule of law around the world. The momentum for people-centered justice continues to build. WJP will participate in an American Bar Association-sponsored conference, “Putting People First: People Centered Justice at Home and Abroad,” ([link removed]) on May 16. The free, day-long hybrid event will also feature remarks from former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer and will honor 2022 Nobel Peace Prize winners Center for Civil Liberties (Ukraine) and Memorial (Russia).
