The Biden administration is planning to send 1,500 armed troops to the U.S.-Mexico border in expectation of mass border crossings once Title 42 expires on May 11th, 2023.

This move is clearly out of desperation as migrant convoys in the tens of thousands have accumulated at major crossing points in Mexico. A border rush of more than 1,000 Venezuelans already shuttered a major El Paso crossing point last month.

This chaos has made it easier to smuggle fentanyl into our communities, wreaking havoc on Wisconsin families. I set up a flash poll to get your most up-to-date opinions on this important issue.

With Republicans back in the majority, one of our top priorities is to strengthen Americans’ trust in border security and stop the chaos that allows fentanyl to be smuggled into our communities.

Last year, I held a roundtable focused on fighting fentanyl with the Rock County Sheriff, local police departments, the High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas Program (HIDTA), and local medical experts in Janesville.
