This is a sad moment in our nation's history.

I never imagined a day would come in which I would vote to remove a sitting President of the United States from office. But that's what I did today -- and it was clearly the right decision.

It brings me no joy to say this, but the President's actions warrant his removal. He should no longer serve as our commander-in-chief.

It's a vote I didn't take lightly, but I was guided by my conscience and a deeply held belief that no president is above the law. If you agree with my decision today, add your name here.

The way these proceedings were conducted will forever be a stain on the United States Senate, which abdicated its responsibility to hold the President accountable.

We didn't hear from any witnesses, particularly John Bolton, or see relevant documents that would have provided more clarity about the President's misdeeds. This was not a trial -- it was a coverup.

President Trump needs to be held accountable for his attempts to conspire with a foreign government to investigate a political rival. Sign your name here if you believe that he should be removed from office.

Today's outcome has set a very dangerous precedent for what an American president can get away with.

I know this is a very demoralizing day for many of us. But let's not forget about this November. Now we must move forward and recommit ourselves to doing everything we can to defeat Donald Trump in this next election.

In a moment like this one, it's up to us to keep speaking truth to power and never let up. The future of our democracy depends on it.

Sincerely,
Cory
