Gun Violence Prevention Advocate,

Even as we fight for gun safety reform every day, we need to take time to honor survivors and families whose lives have been forever changed by this crisis. #WearOrange is a critical platform to maintain that awareness and hold space for all impacted by this epidemic, as we continue pushing for solutions to stop the growth of this club that no one wants to belong to. You're invited to join us for a Wear Orange 2023 event in your community to stand with our fellow Pennsylvanians in observance and solidarity.

The Wear Orange movement began in memory of Hadiya Pendleton, a talented young person who was tragically killed just days after performing at President Obama's second inaugural parade. Her friends and loved ones chose to wear orange, the color of safety in hunting, to remember her spirit and demand change. Since then, Wear Orange has grown into a nationwide event spanning three days, including National Gun Violence Awareness Day on the first Friday of June and Wear Orange Weekend. This year, from June 2-4, 2023, we will once again unite for this important cause.

This year, we hope to also be able to celebrate the final passage of the Common Agenda to End Gun Violence in the PA House as a way to honor the stories of those we remember at Wear Orange.

We will be holding events and organizing opportunities across the Commonwealth throughout the first weekend of June to educate the public about the drivers of gun violence and the ways we can advance policies to interrupt the cycles of gun violence. Please RSVP for an event near you: [link removed]

We also would love to see your selfies wearing orange on social media on June 2-4 with the #WearOrange hashtag!

Thank you for your support and for joining us in action to end gun violence in Pennsylvania.

Sincerely,
Adam Garber
