A school, a bank, a birthday party, a Lunar New Year celebration, a nightclub, a parade — the list goes on. It feels like every week we hear about at least one new, tragic mass shooting that devastated a community. Yet instead of passing legislation that could help curb gun violence, Republican-led states like Florida, Texas, Tennessee, and more have passed bills to loosen restrictions and expand access to guns. It’s reprehensible. Thankfully, Dem AGs have been taking action to protect us.
Most recently, New York AG Tish James hosted a community gun buyback to help keep New Yorkers safe. Her efforts helped remove 3,000 guns out of communities, and more than 7,000 guns total since 2019.
We’ll never be able to count just how many people this program has helped, but we do know that getting guns off the street ensures that fewer families will suffer from gun violence because of it — and that’s a huge win.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and we can't stop now – will you chip in today?
