Today, Mitch McConnell and the GOP-controlled Senate put the finishing touches on sweeping Donald Trump's corruption under the rug.

This was not an acquittal -- this was a coverup. From the moment the trial started, McConnell and his allies declared that they had no intention of being objective.

Left unchecked, there's nothing stopping him from doing so again. He hasn't shown one ounce of growth, understanding, or remorse for his actions.

Mitch McConnell and his Senate allies have sent a clear message that Trump is above the law and the Senate will conduct no oversight.
