David Perdue just voted to acquit. Trump stays.

You’ve been hearing me talk a lot about how we need more gumption in Washington. Today, we saw a glimmer of it. In voting to convict Donald Trump, Mitt Romney demonstrated a profile in courage. David Perdue demonstrated a profile in cowardice.

You deserve a Senator who knows how to lead. I’m the only person in this race who would step into the Senate with governing experience.

Having experience is one thing, but what kind of experience is just as important. My administration brought Columbus together and put us in the Top 25 Best Run Cities in America.

And I’ve shown political courage. As mayor, I stood up to the Sons of Confederate Veterans and banned the Confederate flag on Columbus city property after the racist rally in Charlottesville in 2017. I will not abide racism and I will not abide the subversion of our Constitution to benefit a president in my political party.

I’m on a Southeast Georgia tour right now, because this is a campaign of Georgians, for Georgians. This is how we are building a campaign to win in November. We had over 100 women turn out in Savannah this week who are ready to flip Georgia blue. I’m counting on their support, but I’m also counting on yours.

If we turn Georgia blue in November, we flip the Senate. The latest polling shows we can: Rush in a donation before midnight so we can choose courage this November.
