DEADLINE EXTENDED: Keep the up the pressure for more climate action.? ? ? ? ? Friend ? Tuesday's and last night's Democratic debate only focused on climate for a total of 21 minutes. That's appalling.
The climate crisis is the threat of our lifetime and the lack of questions by debate moderators is unacceptable.
The League of Conservation Voters is keeping the pressure on all of the candidates to focus relentlessly on climate. But to keep up that pressure, we need your help. That's why we're extending our membership drive by one day.
Right now we're 48 members short of our 10,000 new and renewed member goal for 2019. Will you chip in $5 and renew your membership today? [link removed]
The League of Conservation Voters is keeping the pressure on moderators and networks to push each and every candidate to explain how they will address the climate crisis. We're organizing activists, collecting petition signatures to network offices, and running social media blitzes to keep the pressure up.
And ? and this is the key to success ? we're mobilizing LCV members in the early primary states to keep the pressure on the candidates. Keeping all this work going is going to take resources we just don't have right now. We need your help.
Robust debate discussions of climate crisis ? and how to solve it ? is at the heart of the 2020 elections. We know that most candidates running are more than willing to discuss the climate crisis ? and offer solutions. But to have an impact, we need LCV's members fully engaged and ready to hold the candidates and media accountable.
Over the past two-and-a-half years, Trump and his cronies at the EPA and Interior have worked relentlessly to gut environmental protections. In the past two days alone, Trump's EPA rolled back efforts to halt Alaska's Pebble Mine AND gutted standards on coal ash disposal. That's just in the past two days!
But the League of Conservation Voters has stood up to Trump and ? through the courts and the relentless pressure from our members ? forced the Trump administration to back down on some of its most egregious attacks. That's why it's so important to have a real and robust climate discussion; because we know the Trump administration won't lift a finger to stop this crisis.
With 10 more debates, we need to keep up the pressure on the networks and the moderators ? and remind the candidates to push the networks to talk about the climate crisis.
The best way to ensure we can do that is to renew your 2019 LCV membership. A robust and engaged LCV membership is the best way to keep the pressure on the networks. Climate action won't happen if there is no discussion.
So please, renew your LCV membership for $5 right now. We need you in this fight ? [link removed]
