It’s no secret that Republicans have been pushing extreme and even hateful legislation.
Friend,
From banning abortion to slashing trans and gay rights to removing regulations on guns, it’s no secret that Republicans have been pushing extreme and even hateful legislation across the country. And despite all of that, Democratic Attorneys General are finding a way to fight back and win.
Take Washington AG Bob Ferguson for example. He introduced an assault weapons ban in 2017 and has been fighting year after year to prevent gun violence — and just last month, Governor Jay Inslee signed the bill into law. Or Arizona, where newly-elected Dem AG Kris Mayes set up the first-ever reproductive rights unit in her office and has been fighting to save access to mifepristone. Or in Oregon, where Dem AG Ellen Rosenblum has been focused on protecting abortion rights and trans rights while also leading on gun safety legislation.
A lot of the recent successes we’ve seen are because Dem AGs are regularly communicating and working together to come up with different ways to push back against radical GOP policies.
Dem AGs used this strategy to beat Trump — and now they’re teaming up to continue their critical work, like the fight to protect mifepristone access. Right now, Dem AGs are fighting in court to keep the abortion medicine available.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and we can't stop now – will you chip in today?
