2023 Heller Award Winners head to the Jimmys in NYC

Langston Lee and Kyra Carr receive their Heller Awards from Bob Bursey, Texas Performing Arts' Executive & Artistic Director.

Let’s take it from the top! Congratulations to Kyra Carr from Hendrickson High School and Langston Lee from Rouse High School—both winners of a 2023 Heller Award for Young Artists for leading roles in their high school musicals. On June 26 they head to New York City for the National High School Musical Theatre Awards, commonly known as the Jimmy Awards <[link removed]>. This year marks the first time that two winning students from Austin will perform alongside other award winners from around the country, thanks to Texas Performing Arts, home of Broadway in Austin.
