A quick update,
Thanks to your support, the Center for Reproductive Rights filed a lawsuit yesterday on behalf of abortion providers in three states – Virginia, Montana, and Kansas – to protect access to mifepristone, one of two drugs used in medication abortion. We need you with us. [[link removed]]

This safe and effective medication has been subject to unnecessary restrictions that have been used as a tool by the anti-abortion movement to stigmatize and undermine access to medication abortion.

You've seen the headlines: medication abortion is under threat in every state. Just last month, Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk, a federal judge in Texas, attempted to block the FDA's long-standing approval of mifepristone in a radical and legally flawed decision. The U.S. Supreme Court subsequently blocked the decision from going into effect nationwide... for now.
Abortion providers have repeatedly been thrown into chaos with the accessibility of medication abortion volleying between multiple federal courts. And patients seeking abortion care are already facing devastating wait times and unnecessary restrictions.
"Mifepristone is an essential medication for patients, and we're filing this lawsuit to ensure providers in these three states are able continue to provide their patients with the health care they need, without interference."
- Rabia Muqaddam,
Senior Staff Attorney, U.S. Litigation

The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals will hear arguments in the appeal of Judge Kacsmaryk’s order next week (May 17th). Abortion providers continue to face the looming threat of uncertainty that could once again create chaos and limit access to this safe and most common method of abortion.
We will not stop fighting for patients and providers. But if we are to succeed, we need your help, today. [[link removed]]
