Hey team,
I'm not sure if you’ve seen what’s going on with the debt ceiling – but it's a mess.

Far right Republicans seem to think that cutting federal spending on President Biden's climate change initiatives and student loan forgiveness is a better solution than cleanly raising the debt ceiling, which we did 3 times under President Trump without batting an eye.

Lifting the debt ceiling is the only way to evade an economic crisis and possible recession. It's unfathomable that some of my colleagues across the aisle are willing to let hard working Americans suffer just so they can get their way.

To show that engaged Americans like you are with me on this, I'm creating a petition demanding that the House pass the debt ceiling increase as soon as possible. I'm opening this to citizen co-signers, and I'm hoping you’ll be one. Can you add your name by midnight?
