Embracing Diversity: King Charles III's Historic Coronation Unites Faiths and Celebrates Britain's Multiculturalism

Warmest congratulations were extended to Their Majesties King Charles III and the Queen Consort on their historic Coronation.
As a friend of Islam and Muslims, and a defender of faiths, the joyous occasion was marked with great anticipation for a reign that would celebrate all of Britain's diversity.
For the first time at a Coronation Service, leaders and representatives from different faiths and religions were prominent at the service.
MCB Secretary-General spoke at the Mayor of London's service for the Coronation with faith leaders, reflecting on the King's commitment to faith communities.

The Muslim Council of Britain had launched cross-party pledges in service of Muslim voters ahead of the 2023 Local Elections.
The MCB had launched a list of cross-party pledges for candidates running in the past local elections, which were held in England on 4th May.
We encouraged all Muslim voters to engage with their candidates & ask them to commit to these pledges, along with any additional issues important to their local communities.

CfMM engages BBC on diversity,
representation & News Futures

CfMM Director Rizwana Hamid recently held high-level meetings with the BBC's new Director of Diversity & Inclusion, Chinny Okolidoh, and the D&I lead for News, Hajira Mahommed, to discuss representation, training, and recruitment.
CfMM were also invited to the University of Portsmouth recently, where they delivered a talk on the representation of Muslims and Islam in the UK press. We were also pleased to provide journalism students the chance to interview her on camera in the university's TV studio.

Syed Mohammad Tanzeem Wasti: A Life in Service

On behalf of MCB, we remember Syed Mohammad Tanzeem Wasti, who dedicated his life to serving the Muslim community through his work with UKIM, MCB, and Muslim Aid.
His impact spanned across various countries and touched thousands of lives. We pray that we can continue his legacy of service, and ask for blessings upon him and his family.

The Muslim Council of Britain mourns the loss of community advocate and CitizensUK founder, Neil Jameson.
A friend to Muslim communities, Neil fought for social mobility, refugee rights, and the #LivingWage campaign.
We cherish our two-decade partnership and extend our condolences to his family. Neil's legacy will continue to inspire and be greatly missed.
