John,
What a week for President Trump! And it’s only Wednesday.
It started on Super Bowl Sunday when the Trump-Pence team aired a tremendous commercial ([link removed][UNIQID]) that highlights the administration’s commitment to criminal justice reform. President Trump keeps his promises and thousands of families are being reunited thanks to his leadership on criminal justice reform. His Super Bowl commercial features Alice Marie Johnson, a woman who was imprisoned for over two decades for a non-violent offense. The commercial, which you can watch by clicking here, ([link removed][UNIQID]) was widely praised for its message and emotional impact.
On Monday, we saw a total breakdown of the Democrat Caucus in Iowa.
Four years in the making, and the Democrats—who want to control your healthcare—couldn’t do something as simple as count votes. Compare that to the Republican Caucus where enthusiasm for President Trump broke records. Never in the history of that event have more people turned out to support an incumbent president. Iowa Democrats were forced to choose between competing shades of socialism, and the night ended as a complete failure and debacle for them. It’s a real metaphor for what happens when Democrats are asked to run things.
Last night, President Trump delivered an optimistic and forward-looking State of the Union.
He talked about a booming economy, record low unemployment for women, African Americans and Hispanics. He talked about our energy independence, 187 new, conservative federals judges and two new Supreme Court Justices. He talked about a rebuilt military and our successes abroad in eliminating high-value terrorists. Opportunity Zones, school choice, cutting taxes, lowering prescription prices, strengthening our border – it was a unifying message of the American Comeback and perhaps the best speech President Trump has ever delivered.
Nancy Pelosi’s reaction? She threw a temper-tantrum and ripped up her copy of the speech immediately after President Trump concluded. She ripped up a service member being reunited with his family, and a Tuskegee Airman and his great-grandson celebrating a past and future of service to our country. “America is a land of heroes,” the president reminded us. “The home of Thomas Edison and Teddy Roosevelt… Washington, Pershing, Patton and MacArthur. The home of Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglass, Amelia Earhart, Harriet Tubman, the Wright Brothers, Neil Armstrong, and so many more.” Pelosi tore all that up, too.
Here’s hoping next year, when the president delivers the first State of the Union of his second term, there’s a new, Republican Speaker of the House sitting behind him.
This morning, our own Karen Pence was back home again in Indiana to officially file for President Trump and Vice President Pence to be on Indiana’s ballot for reelection. I was honored to join Gov. Holcomb, Lt. Governor Crouch, Secretary of State Lawson and national committee members Anne Hathaway and John Hammond, as well as over 60 enthusiastic Trump-Pence supporters as Mrs. Pence filed. We’re organized, motivated and energized and will make sure Indiana is once again first on the board for the Trump-Pence ticket on Election Night.
And today, the Senate finally ended the sham impeachment by rightfully acquitting the President.
After a five-month abuse of power, House Democrats did everything they could to divide our country by pushing debunked conspiracy theories. The impeachment hoax was a waste of time, money, and an embarrassment of Congress. Thankfully, it is finally over.
When you add the Iowa debacle, the president’s masterful State of the Union, Pelosi’s tantrum and impeachment acquittal to the President’s rising poll numbers, the Blue Collar Boom and the continued upward mobility of the American people, it’s easy to say this was quite a successful week for President Trump. And it’s only Wednesday!
Thanks,
Kyle Hupfer
