Monthly Meeting: May 9th at 7:30pm on Zoom
New York is severely vulnerable to rising seas. So why do key environmental groups oppose the US Army Corps of Engineers’ plan for a $52 billion system of storm surge gates and coastal barriers? How would the plan affect neighborhoods already facing environmental injustice? Gowanus Canal Conservancy Executive Director Andrea Parker will decipher the environmental stakes and offer a more comprehensive, community-based approach to protecting people and ecosystems. Stop the East African Crude Oil Pipeline
A major effort in 350.org's global campaign to stop key fossil fuel expansion is its work to #StopEACOP, If built the EACOP would stretch for almost 900 miles, the longest heated oil pipeline in the world. It would threaten drinking water and a multitude of biodiverse habitats. Sign the petition telling the US company Marsh McLennan to withdraw from insuring this threat to East Africa and the planet.
