Israelis prepare for threat of widespread rocket attacks
Dear A.,
Last night, the IDF took decisive action against three senior commanders of the Iranian-backed Palestinian Islamic Jihad – including the Gaza field commander responsible for missile attacks on Israel.
Just last week, Islamic Jihad fired more than 100 rockets at the Jewish state. The U.S.-designated terrorist group has carried out rocket attacks, suicide bombings, and shootings that have killed and wounded hundreds of Israelis.
Today Israel’s Homefront Command has ordered citizens in the South to stay near bomb shelters, while hospitals across the country are moving patients to underground wards in anticipation of a significant response from Islamic Jihad and other Iranian-backed terror groups.
Israeli political leaders across the spectrum are united in their praise for the IDF’s action, demonstrating yet again the broad consensus in Israeli society on issues of national security.
I will continue to keep you updated as the Israeli operation, known as “Shield and Arrow,” continues to degrade the terrorist threat to Israeli civilians. You can also follow AIPAC on various social media channels for the latest news and developments.
Sincerely,
Tara Brown
