TakeAction's 2020 Legislative Priorities

Dear John,

Kenza here from TakeAction Minnesota, in my new public affairs role.

The 2020 legislative session starts this Tuesday, February 11. I’m so excited to share our legislative priorities with you, especially the bold work we’re doing to lower prescription drug prices and hold Big Pharma accountable.

As the fight to pass the Alec Smith Emergency Insulin bill continues, many Minnesotans have wondered what we can do to make sure all medicine is affordable. This is the challenge we’re taking on this session—and we know we can win.

Together, we’re taking action on drug prices like Big Pharma has never seen before. And we’re starting by telling our powerful stories.

We need YOU to take action right now. Take two minutes to fill out our prescription drug price survey and forward it to anyone you know who’s struggling to afford their medicine.

When pharmaceutical corporations raise prescription drug prices, it hurts all of us. People rationing their medicine fear for their health and livelihood. And when people can’t access medicine they need, it takes a toll on public health.

It’s time for real, people-centered solutions.

Our state has the moral responsibility and legal authority to ensure medicine is affordable. That’s why TakeAction Minnesota and our partners are working to pass a Prescription Drug Price Affordability Commission this session to lower drug prices and check the power of big pharmaceutical corporations.

When our stories are centered in policy debates, change is possible. Share your story today. Fill out this short drug price survey now.

Learn more about all of our 2020 legislative priorities on our blog, and let me know if you have any questions. You can email me at [email protected] or just reply to this email. Your action with us is powerful and truly makes a difference at the legislature.

I’ll be in touch soon.

In solidarity,

Kenza Hadj-Moussa
