I voted today to remove Donald Trump from the presidency. This vote was not one I took lightly, but I saw it as my duty. He abused his power, violated the law, obstructed the investigation, and attempted to undermine our democracy.
The Senate did not vote to remove him, but make no mistake, this was anything but an exoneration. Instead of holding a full and fair trial, seeking the truth, and insisting on hearing from first-hand witnesses and seeing directly relevant emails and documents, Senate Republicans ran from the truth and blocked all witnesses and documents for the first time in American history.
This was a historic cover-up. A sham. A national disgrace.
The evidence is overwhelming that Donald Trump used the power of his office to wage a corrupt campaign to smear his political opponent, coerced a foreign country to help, and then engaged in unprecedented efforts to cover it up. And instead of being a check and balance on an out-of-control president, Senate Republicans blessed his behavior and in the process invited future corruption and stonewalling.
This is a tragic outcome for our country -- because Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell saw his role very simply: protect Trump at all costs.
The way forward is simple: we must save our country from Trump and McConnell by defeating both of them in 2020. Donate today and let's make it happen.

The U.S.Senate has utterly failed its responsibility. Mitch McConnell and his allies have endorsed an imperial presidency immune to indictments, investigations, or impeachment.
They think the president is above the law. That's utterly false and, this November, our movement has to show them that their actions have consequences.
Stand up to Donald Trump. Stand up to Mitch McConnell. Send them packing in November.
Donate $3. Let's take back the Senate, defeat Trump, save our country, and power our movement to victory.
