Frustrated doesn't begin to describe it.
I approached my constitutional duty to be an impartial juror in the impeachment trial with the seriousness it deserves. I wanted to hear from witnesses like John Bolton and Mick Mulvaney who were in the room with Donald Trump. Unfortunately, Senate Republicans blocked even the consideration of these witnesses and shut down the President's trial. You don't have to be a legal scholar to understand that blocking relevant witnesses probably means what they had to say would not reflect well on the president.
Truth is, friend, the only thing we can do now is press forward, beat Donald Trump, and flip the Senate this November.
My team tells me our fundraising dropped dramatically during the impeachment trial, and that's OK. I had a job to do. But now I really need your help to make up for it. Can I count on you to make your first contribution to help us win in November?

We do not have time to dwell on what happened in the Senate today. All we can do now is elect a president and Senate majority who will respect the rule of law and put country over party. That path to victory runs straight through Virginia, and we've got our work cut out for us.
We've got the Trump campaign organizing heavily in Virginia and pouring money into the Commonwealth. We've got potential GOP opponents attacking my record and my vote on impeachment. To be blunt: our campaign cannot overcome this and win without your help.
