John,
The Biden administration is scheduled to end the Title 42 border policy
on May 11, three years after it was first implemented by the Trump
administration. Title 42 is a public health policy that expels arriving
asylum seekers at the U.S. border without providing them an opportunity
to seek humanitarian protection.
But what does the end of this policy mean for the border and asylum
seekers?
**Check out this quick factsheet where we explain the end of Title 42.

Title 42 failed to treat arriving migrants with dignity and failed to
create a secure and orderly border. This policy reduced efficiency at
the border, put migrants in danger, and benefited smugglers and cartels.
It's clear that meaningful, collaborative border solutions are needed
now more than ever. Both Democrats and Republicans in Congress must come
together to pass needed immigration reforms, including border solutions
that are secure, efficient and humane.
Without meaningful reform from Congress, migration will continue to pose
logistical, humanitarian and security concerns.
