Hello [name],
I’ve started off this year thinking about our movements and asking myself these questions - what does it mean to build collective power as a group of young people with access to structural power already? How can RGers understand our power and not shy away from it, but use it collectively? How can we sharpen our strategy to ensure wealth redistribution in our generation?
The answers to these questions lead me to two key things: resourcing each other and our movements, and building long-term sustaining power to create real improvements in people's lives.
We are at a moment when it feels like the odds are stacked against us. With anti-trans bills being passed, new public lands being opened to drilling, and the Right using fear tactics to prepare for the 2024 election, it's easy to lose hope. However, I find solace in our community’s unwavering commitment to each other and our shared vision of abundance. A community where we are unafraid to tap into our direct line to power and use it for the good of the movement. One where we are willing to put in the hard work.
This Spring Drive, we have three invitations for you:
Join us in person for the first time since the pandemic at our upcoming Resource Generation: Organizing Summit.
This summer, we will be uniting for a powerful weekend dedicated to learning and sharpening issue-based grassroots campaign skills to ensure structural wealth redistribution. Learn more here . [[link removed]]
Get trained to run local cross-class campaigns through our newly launched Campaign Coaching program.
Our chapters are building real, transformational campaign relationships and action plans in their communities with our newly launched Campaign Coaching program. Learn more here. [[link removed]]
Learn from national campaign partners at the Center for Popular Democracy through a 5-week Giving Circle.
We are working closely with our Partners at the Center for Popular Democracy to learn with other RG members how to combat climate grief and apathy through people power through a 5 week Giving Circle. CPD will share vision, political analysis, and skills for how young people (and specifically us with access to wealth and class privilege) can build power and support frontline communities to win life-saving policies in the next few years. And, of course - we are putting our money where our mouth is. We are nearing the midpoint of our Spring Drive, in which RG Members recommit to RG as a political home by boldly renewing their dues. In a moment when the odds are indeed against us, acts such as signing the redistribution pledge [[link removed]] , renewing dues [[link removed]] , and signing up for leadership development are an affirmation that we’ll be part of shifting the political tides in our favor.
Renewing your dues [[link removed]] means we - as an RG Community - get to do this transformative and necessary grassroots campaign work to will real, meaningful change. We are committing ourselves to fighting for a better future with our wallets and our bodies - to make sure that no one gets left behind.
See you soon,
Nora
We encourage you to consider joining RG as a dues paying member [[link removed]] , and if you would like to get involved in your local chapter, please fill out this intake form [[link removed]] !
