Dear John,
Waiting for medically necessary treatment remains a hallmark of the Canadian health-care system.
In addition to increased pain and suffering, these long waits also cost Canadians time at work and with family and friends.
A new study published by the Fraser Institute today finds that long waits for surgery and medical treatment cost Canadians almost $3.6 billion in lost wages and productivity last year!
Residents of Manitoba in 2022 faced the highest per-patient cost of waiting. See where the other provinces placed here [[link removed]], and be sure to share this news with your friends and colleagues.
Sincerely,
Niels Veldhuis
