My son would be 30 now – but he never made it past 25. 

In November 2017, Bijan was shot and killed by U.S. Park Police in Fairfax County, and our family was left to grapple with the devastating loss of our son, brother, and friend.

Losing a child is an unbearable experience, but what followed was a betrayal. The criminal legal system had other priorities than getting justice for my son. 

It felt like the system was turning its back on our family. That changed when we met Steve Descano. 

Speaking with Steve, we knew that we had found someone who was willing to stand up for us and fight for what was right. Steve listened to us, took our concerns seriously, and fought for accountability.

My family and I are thankful for Steve for being there for us in this fight and continuing to be an ally for justice.
