Arena Community,

My name is Sydney and I recently joined Arena as the Development Director. As a new member of the growing team, I’m thrilled to be here and join the Arena Community!

Last year, I ran for State Senate in Massachusetts. While I came up short in the final count, I am proud to have been one of the only women and one of the only Jewish candidates on the ballot in my region. Prior to running for office, I was a record-breaking fundraiser for Senator Raphael Warnock, Senator Jon Ossoff, and Senator Ed Markey. 

My experience as a candidate and a fundraiser taught me how trained staff can make the difference between winning and losing.

It also showed me how Republicans are decades ahead of us in building the necessary infrastructure to support their candidates to victory. 

That’s why I’m excited to be here raising the funds Arena needs to support the next generation of candidates and campaign staff. 

Arena has created programs that work and has a winning record to prove it. In places where Arena trains grassroots leaders through our Academies and gets behind compelling next-generation candidates, we galvanize the electorate and create a renewed sense of hope about politics.

We’ve got big plans to train more than 1,500 new campaign staffers this cycle and to make sure that they reflect the diversity of our country and our party, but we need your help to do it.

Finally, I have participated in Arena’s training programs and here is one thing I learned from the Fundraising Track -- always close an email with a clear, hard ask.
