Friends –
Today, the Senate voted to acquit President Donald Trump of wrongdoing in his trial.
Make no mistake, this is a dark day for American democracy.
But this November, we have one chance to stop Trump and his denigration of American democracy at the ballot box. And I’m running to be the one to take him on and ensure Democrats win up and down the ballot to send McConnell packing, too.
As I said on the floor today, since arriving to the Senate 11 years ago, I’ve watched the greatest deliberative body on earth slide further and further into inaction and stagnation under McConnell’s pitiful “leadership”.
Since Trump was elected, we’ve acted as little more than an employment agency for a legion of unqualified, partisan judges and other nominees.
It's clear our American democracy is broken, but it's not irreparable.
As president, I’ll work to rebuild the democratic norms and institutions that Trump has spent the last three years shattering for his own personal gain.
But to do that, we need to win — and my finance director tells me we need to raise $100,000 before the New Hampshire primary on Tuesday to make that happen.
I’ll be honest with you. We staked our flag in New Hampshire. This is our do or die moment.
I need your support now, more than ever. Can I count on you to make a contribution of $5 to my campaign? >> |
This is our moment. With your support, I know we’ll succeed in New Hampshire.
