Riverton angler breaks two state records in April

CHEYENNE? ? Patrick Edwards prides himself in going after big fish in Wyoming. The Riverton angler took that to a new level during a two-week span earlier this year. On April 2 Edwards broke the state record for longnose sucker. The old record was set in 2022 by Christopher Bobo of Casper at 2 pounds, 11.3 ounces. It marked the third consecutive year the longnose sucker record was broken.


Game and Fish proposes two instream flow water rights to protect native trout

CHEYENNE ? The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is seeking instream flow water rights for segments of Rock Creek and Trail Ridge Creek in the upper Green River basin. Both segments are entirely on public lands in Fremont County. The proposed water rights are important to maintaining populations of Colorado River cutthroat trout in their native range.


Game and Fish announces WY Hunt Fish opportunity

CASPER/NEWCASTLE? ? The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is announcing an application opportunity for the Table Mountain Elk Hunt. It is a mentored hunt offered through the WY Hunt Fish program and coordinated by Table Mountain Outfitters.??This event is designed to teach first-time youth and women hunters the basic skills used in elk hunting. During the three-day hunt, participants will learn skills, including safe firearm handling, hunt scouting, field dressing, and blood tracking.
