Hi John, My name is Becky Corbett, and I am a mother, ONE volunteer, nurse and a longtime supporter of PEPFAR (the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief), the bipartisan HIV/AIDS program that has saved 25 million lives over the past two decades. For 15 years, I have volunteered with ONE where I was born and raised, Massachusetts. When my daughters were younger, you could often find me bringing them along to events, using their homemade flyers to tell people about the important work ONE does. |

In fact, it was volunteering with ONE that motivated me to return to school to pursue a nursing career a decade ago. I knew back then that my Members of Congress respected my opinions about the critical work that programs like PEPFAR do. Yet I always felt that my voice would just mean more if I worked in the medical field. Now I don’t expect you to follow in my path as a nurse, but there is still something you can do today to make a difference. You may know that PEPFAR must be reauthorized in 2023. Can you sign your name if you agree and stay in the loop to take action as the bill moves through Congress? As a nurse in a trauma center, I am confronted with suffering every time I walk through the doors of the hospital. PEPFAR has, and can continue to, mean that millions of people have been able to not just survive, but thrive. On the occasion of National Nurses Week, please join me by signing your name in support of PEPFAR. |
