Republicans in Congress suddenly claim to care about debt and deficits again. But that’s just not the case. Remember when Republicans passed the massive Trump tax cuts for their wealthy campaign donors and corporations, which were projected to add almost $2 trillion to the country’s debt?
The fact of the matter is the new proposal from House Republicans has little to do with reducing debt and deficits and everything to do with giving away the store to the fossil fuel industry – whose dark money funds their party.
