It breaks my heart to write yet another email about gun violence. This weekend, our country experienced another tragic shooting, this time in Allen, Texas. This shooting has left us all deeply shaken and grieving for the 8 lives taken, and the families affected.
It’s hard to know what to do in these situations. When you look at your children, and fear for their future, it’s hard to feel like we’re making any progress. So I’m doing all I can.
In Congress, I’ve been a vocal advocate for common-sense gun safety legislation. I’ll continue to work tirelessly to build bipartisan support for solutions that prioritize the safety and well-being of our communities.
As we approach the 1-year mark of the devastating Uvalde shooting, it’s sobering to think of another community in the state of Texas, and in our country, torn apart by gun violence. But now is the time for us to come together as a community and work towards change. We owe it to the victims of the Allen shooting and countless others whose lives have been affected by gun violence. I encourage you to join me in this fight by supporting candidates who prioritize the safety of our neighborhoods and who are committed to finding solutions that will make a difference.
Additionally, here are a few organizations advocating for safer gun laws in the United States.
