| Hey, it’s Jen Kiggans. You may not know me, but I need your help. Last year, I defeated a liberal
Democrat in one of the closest elections in the entire country to help Republicans retake the House of Representatives. Now, I’m one of the
Democrats’ top targets. They are already spending big bucks to try and defeat me, so I wanted to see if you would be willing to support our
campaign. But first, I wanted to tell you a little about myself and what led me to run for Congress in the first place. | That photo above is me and my husband, Steve. He is a
retired F-18 pilot, and I’m a proud Navy wife and mother to four amazing children. |
I also served in the Navy. I was winged as a naval aviator in 1995 and served our
nation for a total of 10 years as a helicopter pilot flying H-46 and H-3 helicopters, completing two deployments to the Persian Gulf.
After serving in the Navy, I used my GI Bill benefits to go back to school and become a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner. It was an honor to care for our
Greatest Generation, and I helped them fight the system to get the healthcare they deserve. | Over time, I got frustrated watching the evening news and just hearing about all the
dysfunction and radical agendas in our government. But I’m not one to just complain about problems. I like to solve them. So
I got off my couch, and I ran for office. |
I served three
sessions in the Virginia State Senate, where I used my real-world experience to actually solve problems. I was proud to champion legislation to
promote election security, establish a Military Spouse Liaison, and advocate for patients, families, and caregivers in long-term care facilities. Eventually, I realized a lot of the problems facing my family, our neighbors, and our community were actually coming from Washington. We
were represented by a Democrat who voted with Nancy Pelosi 99% of the time, and I felt we needed a representative who would actually put our values
and community first. |
So, I once again
decided to stop complaining and actually do something about it. So I ran for Congress! When I commit to something, I give it my
all, and that’s what we did with the campaign. We were up against a lot. National Democrats poured over $10 million into my opponent’s
campaign, and big money PACs spent even more attacking me. |
But, we stayed focused on the
task at hand and never lost sight of why I was running. On Election Night, we won by about 10,000 votes in one of the closest races in the entire
nation. And in Congress, we’ve already been able to make a big impact. We are standing up for veterans, parents,
taxpayers, and hard-working Americans. We’re making good progress, but the work is just getting started. But the Democrats and
their deep pocket donors are already setting out to defeat me. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has announced my seat is one of their
top targets in 2024, so I’m hoping you will donate today to help our campaign start strong. I know times are tough in Joe
Biden’s economy, so I’d appreciate anything you could donate to help fund our campaign. Every donation will go directly toward helping
us keep this battleground seat in Republican hands and will allow me to keep fighting to solve problems in Washington.
|
I certainly appreciate you taking the time to read my
story, and I’m incredibly grateful for anything you can contribute to help our campaign. With your support, I can keep
fighting to make America stronger and safer. -Jen | |
