Dear John, This morning, the House Natural Resources Committee held a hearing on Rep. Betty McCollum’s bill, H.R. 5598, entitled “The Boundary Waters Wilderness Protection and Pollution Prevention Act,” in the U.S. House of Representatives. Rep. McCollum's bill would permanently remove the threat of sulfide-ore mining in the watershed of the BWCAW and establish the protections needed to keep two national treasures - both the Boundary Waters Canoe Area and Voyageurs National Park - pristine for all generations to come.
