Team:
An extremist-packed state legislature just passed a 6-week abortion ban making North Carolina the next state that could enact dangerous restrictions on reproductive freedom.
Here’s what we know:
FACT: 8 in 10 Americans wanted to see abortion remain protected in the aftermath of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization SCOTUS decision.
FACT: 14 states currently have TOTAL abortion bans on the books while 5 more have bans on abortion anywhere from as early as 6 weeks to 20 weeks after conception.
FACT: 10 states remain where ballot measures could be used to protect abortion access permanently — and in some states, they could strike down active abortion bans.
Now, unless Gov. Roy Cooper vetoes this ban, North Carolina could become the next state to enact dangerous restrictions on abortion.
After major wins to protect abortion access at the ballot box last November, voters proved that the best way to permanently secure their reproductive freedom wasn’t to rely on politicians, but to do it themselves.
We’re committed to protecting abortion access in every state possible. Will you rush a donation to power our Ballot Measure Abortion Fund today as we fight alongside voters to secure permanent abortion protections at the ballot box, team?
