Are you interested in the state of reproductive justice issues in our nation’s capital? Join us for our next webinar on Thursday, May 25,at 12 p.m. ET, Repro Justice 202: DC Statehood and You. This discussion will cover everything from the city’s staggering maternal mortality rates to the control the federal government should not, but does, have over local abortion access. It is truly a conversation you will not want to miss!
All people who want an abortion should be able to access it. Unfortunately, many experience cruel barriers to getting their care. Our Fake Clinic Database lists all discoverable anti-abortion fake clinics. The purpose of anti-abortion fake clinics is to mislead, deceive, and shame people seeking abortion care. We proudly reject this #BadFaithMedicine and will continue to expose anti-abortion fake clinics. To avoid the anti-abortion fake clinics near you (and tell your friends to), learn where they are using our Fake Clinic Databasehere.
Self-Care
Self-care is an intentional practice that roots us in the present despite the oppression we may face. Regular self-care is essential for sustainable and effective activism.
Here are our self-care tips for May:
1. Spruce up your space! I got very tired of looking at the bland, big, box of salt on my counter so I bought a cute storage container. Now, it makes me happy to look at and I also feel like I'm on my own cooking show every time I sprinkle a pinch into the pot. - Elizabeth, Senior Development and Operations Manager
2. Hone in on your routines! Having standard routines for different areas of my life helps me feel in control and allows me to prioritize the things that I know are important for my well-being, like reading before bed or taking the time to journal. Feel free to toy with your routines to make sure that they're serving you and try adding in something new for a change. -Nataley, Executive Assistant
3. End your night with a book! After a long day of work many of us reach for our phones to relax. Forgoing extra phone time and opting for a book always ends my day on a positive note. – Laila, DC Organizer
See you next month!
