‌ ‌ WEEKLY UPDATE May 8th, 2023 Dear Kansas friends, Thank you for your interest in receiving my newsletter. Please feel free to share this with your friends and family. 2023 Career Fair I hosted a career fair last week in Ag Hall at the Stormont Vail Events Center in Topeka to help connect businesses with Kansans looking for a full or part-time job. We had over 50 employers with more than 2,000 available jobs. Our Commitment to Secure the Southern Border Title 42 expires in less than 10 days—one of the last remaining tools Border Patrol agents have at their disposal to help contain the worsening crisis at the southern border. My colleagues and I on the Oversight Committee will use every tool in the toolbox to uncover the truth and deliver accountability for the American people. Read more HERE Meeting with Kansans Across the District THANK YOU to everyone who came out to Terebinth Coffee House & Roastery in Coffeyville yesterday to talk about the most pressing issues facing Kansas families. I am working to deliver solutions to help strengthen our communities and get our country back on track. I had a productive meeting with Chaunte Police Captain Chris Pefley this week. As I talk to law enforcement officials across KS-02, I remain committed to fighting for increased resources to ensure our brave men and women in blue have the tools they need to keep our streets safe. It was great visiting Twin Valley Electric in Altamont last week! We discussed the impact of rising energy costs & supply chain disruptions and what Congress can do to help maximize American energy production.
