One of my biggest takeaways from my time in politics is that it’s never too early to start preparing for the next election.

That’s especially true for state-level special elections, which are historically underfunded and overlooked even though they have the same implications as races that happen on Election Day in November. In fact, there’s already been 22 special elections in state legislatures this year (can you believe that?!), and I’m proud to say that the DLCC has won 14 of those races. We need to keep it up.

With so much at stake, here’s what you need to know:

→ The DLCC is the ONLY party committee fully dedicated to electing state Democrats – and state legislators impact your day-to-day life more than federal candidates do.

The fact is: If state Democrats don’t come out on top, we might as well give the GOP a blank check to push their extreme anti-abortion and anti-LGBTQ+ agenda.

This team has to fight back with everything we’ve got, and I’m no stranger to tough fights. With far-right extremists ramping up momentum ahead of 2024, passing anti-democratic legislation, and creating gerrymandered maps, the DLCC needs dedicated grassroots donors to get off the sidelines and invest in state Democrats now.
