CASEWORK HIGHLIGHT: Preventing Flood Insurance Rate Hike

A West Islip constituent had her home flood insurance canceled through no fault of her own and would have had to abide by increased rates and penalties under a new policy. After the constituent contacted our office, Andrew's casework team became involved and the company reversed their decision and reinstated the original rate and terms saving the constituent thousands of dollars a year in new rates and penalties.

Andrew knows how frustrating dealing with bureaucracy can be. That is why he has an entire team dedicated to helping constituents get what they need for the federal government. If you need help dealing with a federal agency, contact our office and our team will get to work on your case.

Andrew Seeks Answers About Child Labor Reports Related To Border Crisis

This week, Andrew joined more than 70 of his colleagues in sending a letter to Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra seeking answers about reports that HHS has been unable to contact 85,000 child migrants now in the U.S. and that the surge in child migrants at the border has coincided with a rise in child labor. The Members said in part, "It is the responsibility of HHS to properly vet the people these children are being released to and to protect them from being exploited. Yet, it has been reported that caseworkers feel rushed to move children out of government custody quickly and are not fully vetting the people to whom the children are released. Thus, putting these minors in dangerous environment." Last Congress, Andrew introduced legislation to improve screenings of sponsors for unaccompanied migrant children.

Andrew Recognized For Championing Local Zoos

The Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) recently recognized Andrew as a champion for AZA-accredited facilities like the Bronx Zoo. Andrew serves as co-chair of the Congressional Zoo & Aquarium Caucus which supports conservation, education, science, and recreation efforts of local zoos and aquariums.
