The Trump administration has proposed a rule that would attempt to roll back the Health Care Rights Law’s protections, which prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex in health care settings.
If the administration succeeds in rolling back the Health Care Rights Law…
- A provider could refuse to treat an unmarried pregnant person because of their marital status.
- A transgender person could be turned away because of their gender identity.
- A patient could be denied treatment because a provider objects to whom they love or how they present themselves.
The public comment period on the proposed rule is now open, and we have until midnight on August 13th to submit as many comments as possible opposing it. The clock is ticking.
