Dear John,


It is always great to be back in western Minnesota! This was a very busy week
of visits from Crookston to Slayton and so many stops in between. I enjoy the
opportunity to connect directly with constituents. For example, I heard from
business owners in Moorhead and Fergus Falls about their concerns over the cost
of doing business, continued difficulties with having an adequate workforce,
and the burdens of overregulation. It’s an honor to take their feedback to
Washington and apply it to legislation to improve programs that are working or
simply to get government out of their way.



Well, that didn’t take long! Democrats are already spewing lies about the
Limit, Save, Grow Act, our plan to tackle reckless spending and ensure we meet
our financial obligations. President Biden deserves four Pinocchios for claiming
nonexistent cuts to veterans’ benefits. He is shamelessly lying to our nation’s
heroes to gain political points when he should be at the negotiating table with
Speaker McCarthy. Unfortunately, this behavior is part and parcel of this
president’s unwillingness to deal with the real problems facing our country.



And that’s not the worst coming out of the White House this week... On Monday,
the Federal Finance House Agency (FFHA) enacted a radical, un-American plan
that penalizes homebuyers with good credit and subsidizes high-risk mortgage
applicants. While President Biden claims this is meant to increase
homeownership, it is actually a back-door middle-class tax that turns the
homebuying incentive system upside down. He should listen to the fiduciaries
across our country who are “revolting” against this plan. It deserves the same
short-lived fate as last year’s Government Disinformation Panel.
