In case you missed it, Republicans in Congress are playing political games with America’s budget. They are refusing to raise the debt ceiling for the first time in U.S. history – demanding that massive cuts be made to social security, veterans’ benefits, affordable housing, retirement, and even opioid treatment to avoid defaulting on our debt.

Becca had a few things to say about their reckless demands:

If Republicans fail to raise the debt ceiling for the first time in U.S. history, it would have catastrophic consequences for the economy. Becca has been clear on how we can avoid this crisis, but extremists like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Kevin McCarthy are hell-bent on throwing the American people under the bus in order to follow through on their extreme agenda.
