Friend,
Three months ago, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Türkiye (Turkey) and Syria, followed by a second powerful quake and more than 100 aftershocks, killing at least 50,000 people and injuring tens of thousands.
Thanks to the outpouring of support from people like you, we've been able to continue providing aid in these critical last months and will be able to continue supporting these communities in the difficult months and years ahead.
Read on to see how your generosity has directly impacted our in-depth response after disaster struck Türkiye and Syria in February, 2023:
FIRST: Two catastrophic earthquakes struck on Monday, Feb. 6. Families were displaced, their homes buried under rubble – but thanks to you, we were able to deploy an emergency response team to quickly assess the damage and to help restore health services for survivors.
THEN: Because of the base of dependable support you provided, we could send lifesaving shipments that arrived just three days after the earthquakes – including IV fluids, wound care and hygiene supplies, surgical tools and essential medicines to regions hit hardest by this crisis.
NOW: These earthquakes were a compounded crisis for communities already ravaged by years of violence and displacement. Our work in the region began long before the earthquakes and is still far from over. And that's all possible because your generosity gives us the ability to help communities in the long term.
This work depends on humanitarians like you. From the bottom of our hearts, we're so grateful for the outpouring of support for Türkiye, Syria and countries around the world impacted by disaster and poverty. |
