Next Friday, notorious Florida extremist Ron DeSantis will be in Peoria, where he will be the keynote speaker for the Peoria & Tazewell Counties Republican “Lincoln Day” Dinner.
Just off the heels of DeSantis signing a fresh barrage of the cruelest and most reactionary laws of 2023, it’s clear the IL GOP are doubling down on their out-of-touch extremism.
But we know the people of Illinois have had more than enough of these right-wing radicals. We saw in 2022 & just last month in the municipal elections, when fringe conservatives have run for public office, voters have rejected them.
Our plan to make this visit backfire on him and his Illinois allies is well on its way to success – but we’re not quite on track to meeting our $3,000 goal before his speech. Can you chip in $10 today to help us fight back against the extremist IL GOP?

Surveying the havoc DeSantis has caused in his own state is truly horrifying.
From his authoritarian attacks on Disney for denouncing his despicable “Don’t Say Gay” bill, to passing a draconian six-week abortion ban which will leave Floridians without bodily autonomy, it is crystal clear DeSantis does not care about the citizens of his own state.
He certainly doesn’t care about the people of Illinois — except for how they can help him boost his profile ahead of his bid for President.
