When I first started teaching I realized students needed to see themselves reflected in the curriculum. 

We founded the Cornerstone Academy for Social Action because we understood our children deserve an education that is empowering and reflective of the greatness of their history. CASA served as a home where our children celebrate that greatness for more than just one month—it was a celebration everyday.

Now running for Congress to represent the children of our district in Washington, I want to make sure our history does not go ignored or unappreciated after the month of February. Can you contribute to our campaign for a New Deal for Education?

I am running because I believe in education reform—one that’s reflective of our nation’s history and the history of our culture.
