As DeSantis is on his “book tour,” a clear disguise for his upcoming presidential campaign, it’s no surprise that he’s making a stop here in Wisconsin. Our state has served as the “tipping point” in the last several presidential elections, sending Donald Trump to the White House in 2016, and President Biden in 2020. Election experts are already saying our state could decide the presidency once again next year — and this time, voters here could decide the Senate majority with it. That’s why Republicans are already targeting Wisconsin. They know if they squeak by and win here, they’ll have a pretty good shot at taking the White House and handing the Senate majority back over to Mitch McConnell. And they’re going to do and spend whatever it takes to make that happen. Between DeSantis’ book tour stop (aka campaign stop) today and picking Milwaukee as the site for the Republican National Convention next year, Republicans have made it clear that their sights are set on winning Wisconsin. We’ll need all hands on deck to fight back.
