Republicans aren’t going to stop with their ridiculous anti-abortion legislation.
Friend,
I’m angry as all hell whenever I get a push notification about another Republican-controlled state issuing an abortion ban or attacking medication abortion access. And every time I see a notification about another attack on reproductive rights, I think of the real people who will suffer the consequences because of Republicans’ actions.
People like the women in Texas who are being sued by their friend’s ex-husband for allegedly helping her access abortion medication. Or the sexual assault survivors in Iowa who will now have to cover the cost of emergency contraception because of the Republican Iowa AG’s decision to stop covering the cost of treatment for victims. Or the Idaho woman who suffered a painful miscarriage lasting 19 days because several doctors were afraid they’d be breaking the abortion-ban law if they gave the care she needed.
We all know that Republicans aren’t going to stop with their ridiculous anti-abortion legislation. At this point, it almost feels like they’re trying to one-up each other on which Red state can pass the most extreme abortion bills.
But that’s exactly why we can’t stop fighting — if we do, they win, and all of us will lose not only access to necessary health care but the right to choose what we want for our own bodies and our own lives. And I don’t know about you, but I can’t sit back and watch that happen.
