First and foremost, John: Thank you.

To everyone who gave during our April budget push, I am so grateful. Every dollar raised is crucial to ensuring we can take back the House in 2024.

Right now, we have to take the current debt ceiling talks very seriously. Republicans propose major cuts to early childhood education, climate mitigation, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, veterans support, and food stamps.

But defaulting would be a terrible option as well, resulting in the government not being able to pay Social Security and Medicare benefits, military salaries, interest on the national debt, tax refunds, and bond holders. It would be a signal to investors all around the world that the U.S. debt can't be counted on.

Which is why we must stand up right now to call for a bipartisan effort to protect our economy and our families.

The fact is both options would be terrible for the American people, which is why, while talks are taking place, I’m asking you to sign on to my petition to take a stand. Can you do so before the end of the day? [[link removed]]Sign On Now [[link removed]]

Be well,

Ami
