This week, Washington D.C. celebrated its first annual D.C. Statehood Day to highlight the district’s fight to become a state – and to serve as a rallying cry for supporters across the country. D.C. has more residents than Vermont AND Wyoming but STILL has ZERO voting representation in Congress, team! Plus, Congress has the power to OVERTURN local D.C. laws. It is well past time that changed.
