Fellow Democrats, one of the most important and often overlooked tasks of each election cycle is happening right now: recruiting candidates.
While you may assume more people are eager to run than there are seats, the opposite is true. More than 30% of our nation’s elections went uncontested in 2022, and in many competitive areas where both a Democrat or Republican had a chance to win.
We and our network are hard at work identifying qualified Democratic candidates to run for elections throughout our state — because if we don’t run, we can’t win.
Recruiting candidates is no mean feat. Finding candidates we are confident will be a good fit and supplying them with the resources and training they need to win takes a LOT of time and investment.
